Thanks for all the rad remarks guys!
@suicidal, actually unfortunately not... I started drawing when I was around 3... yeah no kidding... and I always enjoyed it and once I entered college I drew even more, I went from a fine arts major then to a graphic design major, then to a illustration major and then to biomedical illustration and then back to graphic design... basically later it became work and I didn't enjoy it as much anymore... especially when graphic design turned all to computer graphics and although art skills/ creatives skills are a plus and totally needed... some dudes who just "knew the program" well could pull off rad stuff... so I guess I got burned out... Sooo to make a long story short, no I really don't but occasionally I will doodle..lol!
I never really lose my skills, just get a lil rusty but like brushing ur teeth u really never forget... just got to get the passion back...
I guess as u grow older, u spend so much time doing adult things, taking care of responsibilities etc... ur creative juices go to poop and not much energy or time left to put down onto paper or canvas.. But one day I will start up again... because I see guys like VCJ's, Sean's etc... artwork on boards and I get kinda jazzed and want to pick up the pencil again... |

This is way rad and I bet it looks ridiculous in a frame. Solid. Reminds me of these caricature shirts that I used to have back in the day...

First of all...AWESOME!!!
Secondly...Dude...this is like "this is my life". I've been drawing since I can remember, and well. Went to school for graphic design, switched to fine art. Graduated, went to work as an illustrator/cartoonist/designer...got burned out, then married into the booze biz. Flirted with freelancing while working in the store, did well with it...then ended up buying the booze store, no time for "art" (I hate that word for some reason). Started doing some photography for the instant gratification tip (actually minored in it too...so not totally new) and that keeps my creative juices flowing...but I do want to touch pencil to paper again.
Thank you for making me fell like I'm not "the only one". And again...AWESOME work. |
