hey 'all,
So I'm in the process of researching skateboard presses. I have a stripped H-Frame (36" of open space width) available to me and the place I work at will let me use their welding department.
I've searched the forum and the net trying to find how I can build one, but I only find instructions for a bottlejack 20 ton.
I would like to use a 50 ton ram hydraulic and an electric/hydraulic pump. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as what to look for in a cylinder and pump (technically speaking)? I'm especially having trouble finding out how to mantain continous pressure.
ANY advice/direction/help would be greatly appreciated

Here's what I have so far:
The cylinder I'm looking at is a 50ton single action @ 10,000 psi with 6" stroke and 3.5" diameter plunger. I would like to find a dual action though.
The pump I am looking at is 1hp, 115 volts, 10,000 psi with a four way valve.
I would like to press 3 or 4 boards at a time. Correct me if I am wrong, but from what I have read a person needs 200 pounds of pressure per square inch to press that many decks? |

I saw that setup from snowboardmaterials.com Its pretty sweet.
I wish I had the coin for something like that .......maybe someday
I'm pratically certain that I am going to get at least one press going to see if I can make it work.......I just have to get together a bit more info.
So, does anyone know how to keep the pressure on the boards for the 2 hours that is needed without the cylinder leaking? I'm under the impression that the cylinder isn't built for that. Any ideas?
