My fave ridden we named "Star Wars" cuz it was the '70's, and it curved under the highway, downhill! Reminded us of the Deathstar attack from the movie.
It starts with the slope of the overpass, that feeds into the ditch, curves into the underground tunnel ( duck! ) and then feeds into a 20 foot deep ditch.
Haven't been there in 20 years, but it's on Google Earth.
Near Waco, TX.
Skated it! Wiggins Rd. too. Good times. |

That's about halfway down and it had a big mellow bowled end on it that would give you enough speed to pump back up to the top. |

I love ditches more than any other terrain. These are my favorites in no particular order.

No particular order...but EZ 7 is first and last?
Is that CFan at #5?
Watching Money skate a ditch (or anything else) is a good thing. |

That sounds good.
Check it out when you get a chance and give us a first hand report.
I always like skating with someone, a few people is best. That way I can rest in between runs without looking like a winded old man who needs to get his breath.
I will keep you posted.
What about Surf Side? (Or what ever the big banks on the other side of the little tunnel were called) Are they in any shape to skate?
edit: I keep going back to that photo of the cleaned up whip ditch and man that place is fucking sexy.. It has banks like no other ditch. I think I saw some of the best skating by no name locals there than any where else. I cant wait. |

the day i took those pics i was drunk as shit and just so happened to talk the wife into going by there so i could check it out..i didn't go under the freeway to scope out "the big side"(thats what i call it anyways..don't know the proper nomenclature )
i don't like skating by myself either..especially a ditch...get winded twice as fast and if you wreck yourself you're SOL.(been there/done that before)...i've been trying to get time to skate with my old buddy Mark at The Dip but getting older and having responsibilities really gets in the way of having a good time don't it.
i will go see if both sides are good to go and post back up on what's what....the only thing i see being a problem would be where to park..they put a curb that runs over the bridge where we used to roll across and park on the dirt/grass and now it's all nice grass there so it might be a bust in that respect.(we parked across the street at a closed business on a Sunday) |

Reports say the Whip is being skated again. It's been on my bucket list forever, as is EZ 7.
IF you try to hit the Whip, please be mindful. Parking is an issue. Maybe Stubbs has more details.
The legendary Pflugerville ditch (RIP) will always hold a spot in my heart. |
