I reconnected with an old friend yesterday and paid him a visit and we were looking at some of his old shit like old posters from his room and old skate decks he still had and then he shows me the JJ and I said "Holy fuck, that's my old deck!"
It was worn out and remember giving it to a buddy to skate until he got a new deck. He sold it to my other friend for $20 who then destroyed the thing and now it is back in my hands. The stickers were shit and were none that I originally put on (those were removed by one of those two guys along the way) so I peeled them off with a hairdryer except the one Vision Streetwear sticker. I had a smile on my face all day yesterday.
Skated and unskated.

So awesome.
I rode the same deck in a green colorway and loved that deck. Learned wall rides on it so much that I used Shoe Goo to patch and make a front bumper on the nose. If they ever reissue I'm on it. |

I just can't believe I have it in my possession again. Mind trip.
It made me remember the whole process obtaining it.
Back in 87 I traded a deck to my friend Chris for his bonite bottlenose McGill. I hated that thing and traded it to another friend named Damien for his Jason Jessee shark tail, but I was not really into it so I traded it for the purple Joe Johnson with a guy named Scott.
The only thing is I can't recall is what deck I traded for that McGill that started this all off. It may have been a Skull Skates Skeletal.
I need to see a hypnotist because it will drive me crazy until I remember. |

So rad. This is the kind of story I really dig. I mailed and mutialted so many of my old decks. I never treated them with any real respect. They were always a means to an end, and as such, don’t exist. I long for an experience 1/10th as cool as this one. |

I need some beat down, green, Vision rails for it. The thicker ones since that is what I had on there. |

I love that decks used to be unique enough (design/shape) that they were actually worth trading for other decks. |
