Not sure I like the use/ripoff of Waldo's classic graphic.
RIP Waldo.

Myself and friend Dave Heady took care of Don during his last 5 years here-got him back on a skateboard-organized and spoke at his funeral. During my personal time with Waldo..he expressed his stoke for Steve Alba and others for what they did for pipe riding at Baldy and taking it to the next level on several occasions. Then...at a Upland Pipeline skate reunion, Salba asked if it'd be ok to re-do the Waldo Baldy graphic-in honor of Waldo-and Waldo said he'd be more than honored! NOT RIPPED OFF!
So there ya' have it.
It's Steve's Art with Waldo's permission.

I was at Waldo Autry's paddle out memorial.
Skaterbuilt Dave was there. Salba was there.
Where were you?
They were there celebrating his life because they are his real friends.
Dave was there 200% for Waldo in his final years.
Lame when people get possessive or proprietary over something that doesn't involve them.
I'm stoked on this deck but more importantly, Waldo would have been way stoked.
Great work Dave. Waldo was a rad person and we miss him everyday. RIP |
