Just finished tracking down some items to improve/hot-rod Randal trucks;
- Grade-8 kingpins in 2.5" (stock), 2.75", and 3" lengths
- Cup washers (large & small) with smoothed edges
Both of these will (A) improve strength and reliability, and (B) allow the use of two Stimulator bushings, or two bottom Indy/Khiro/Bones bushings.
Should have everything in-stock within a week.

what you should do is carry one or two sets that have been altered with the straight axels. Randalls have a bad reputation when it comes to axel straightness |

ahh yes, the randal axles...
got the large cup washers in yesterday, and am waiting on the kingpins. i'm thinking that two bottom DLX Supercush bushings wpould work well on randals & be relatvely cheap.
or, folks could just buy seismics...

We've got 2.5", 2.75", and 3" grade-8 kingpins available (perfect for Randals). Details here.
I dorked around with a pair of Randals today and was able to run TONS of different bushing combo's with the 2.75" kingpins.

you forgot to include reaming the baseplate holes so they line up better.
i know the 8mm axles are all the rage among the cognoscenti, but lowly ol' me still gets by on the stock jobbies...
wouldn't mind having some ano'd or powdercoated, though.

If you ask nicely, MMW will redrill the Randal baseplates on their jig.
Seriously, bailing the noodly stock Randal axles (apparently made from a metal/butter alloy) makes a huge difference.
Once again, though, Seismics are way better than Randals right out of the box. Dan did a great job on those trucks!

yeah, seismics have it all over randals. we've been out of most sizes of seismics for a while (as has seismic), but more are on their way...

I keep hearing people say seismics are better than randalls, but then I keep hearing other people say seismics dont hold their own at high speed. I am a speed maniac, someone let me know what gives please. |
