I'm still workin on my exposure unit, but in the mean time I did this randomly.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Needs a higher mesh count, some of the detail gets lost in the print. |

How did you set that up for exposing? What mesh count did you use? I have been trying to figure out how to set up images like that for printing. |

Hey RYKE,
I'm unsure of my meshcount as it was a hand me down screen from someone else. I'm pretty sure its under 200 count. I think 256 would print much cleaner than whatever I used. My black ink is kind of runny too so that didn't help.
Take ink consistency into consideration but I think 256 is a good place to start with some halftones.
For the image I took a pic off google into photoshop. It helps if its a decent size/resolution I suppose.
Then go to Image>Mode>Grayscale. (Discard color info? YES)
Then go to Image>Mode>Bitmap.
A window will pop up.
I set my output to 300 pixels/inch. Makes a large image but the print size is still normal.
Set the drop down menu for Method to "Halftone screen"
Hit ok
Another window.
Shape "Ellipse"
I didn't mess with the angle and freq. I think thats more for cmyk halftones so you don't get some weird pattern.
Thats all I did. I'm no photoshop pro, but this gives decent results. |
